Fixed Braces to Straighten Teeth
Fixed orthodontic appliances are a popular solution here at Milngavie Orthodontics.
Fixed metal braces, also known as ‘train tracks’, are the traditional braces you see used by our specialist team. However, we also offer a range of other fixed brace options for adults, teenagers and children.

Fixed Braces
+
Suitability
Some orthodontic treatment programmes are only suitable for certain types of malocclusion. However, fixed braces are suitable for everyone.
+
Affordability
Traditional fixed braces are available on the NHS for people under the age of 18 and can also be a more affordable choice for adults.
+
Effectiveness
Traditional fixed braces are incredibly effective and can address the most complex of cases.
Tooth Coloured (clear) Braces
Tooth coloured braces are a popular choice to align teeth and correct the bite whilst being discrete.
Silver Braces
These traditional braces are still a popular choice, being used still for tooth corrections. Patient’s enjoy selecting a colour to style their brace with!
An 'average' course of orthodontic treatment with fixed braces usually takes between one and two years.
If you have a fixed brace we will need to see you every 6-8 weeks.
Having a brace fitted is a painless procedure, but you may find that your teeth ache for a couple of days afterwards.
You might find that your speech is affected by your brace for the first few days, particularly if you have a removable or lingual brace.
