How long is the NHS waiting list at Milngavie Orthodontics?

We are committed to ensuring we provide a high-quality and efficient NHS service. We have taken extra measures to ensure that we are dedicated to the community of Bearsden, Milngavie and the surrounding areas.

When your dentist refers your child to us, we examine the referral and check their age (we are often unable to provide treatment under the age of 12 years old), however there are exceptions to this and these are stated on the referral letter to us from your dentist.

We triage all the referrals to ensure that patients are seen in a timely manner. We will prioritise patients who are referred urgently to us (perhaps there are decayed teeth or buried teeth) and try to assess these patients within 2-4 weeks.

We have extended our NHS and private service and have more Specialists who are able to see patients, if the patient is between 12-14 years of age and your dentist has indicated a need for orthodontic treatment, we will prioritise them on our waiting list. Our waiting list is currently at 3-5 months but this will reduce now that we have caught up on the Covid backlog.

If your child is between 9-11 years of age, we may take a little longer to assess them, please be reassured that this is because there is very little we can do at this age without causing too much distress to our younger patients. If there is a high need for treatment (for example, bite issues) and your dentist has indicated this on the referral, we will prioritise these patients and expect to see them within 4-6 weeks.

How long is the private waiting list at Milngavie Orthodontics?

One of our treatment coordinators will provide you with a complimentary consultation by telephone and discuss the concerns you have with your teeth and smile. If you wish to be examined by a Specialist then we will see you within 2-4 weeks.
